John D. Eckelman, PhD.

I employ a collaborative, problem-solving approach in working with clients on their concerns. Therapy may utilize relationship coaching and cognitive behavior therapy to effect change, along with mindfulness practices to manage and accept losses. I have a BA degree from Trinity College, and MA and PhD degrees from the University of Manitoba, with specialized certification in the treatment of addictions. I am married with three children and enjoy hiking, tennis and woodworking.
Michael A. Ruben, LICSW, BCD

I utilize humor with practical applications to assist individuals who are stuck in their lives. With couples, I help them restore their connection, create greater intimacy and deal with trust and conflict issues that may be interfering in their relationship. I have a BA in psychology from Oberlin College, and an MSW from Columbia University. Formerly, I was on the faculty at Wheelock College Center for Family Studies. I am happily married with four children, enjoy running, cooking and baking, yoga, music and learning the saxophone.

I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology and have over 30 years experience with prior internships at Franciscan Children's Hospital and McLean Hospital. I am interested in the integration of behavioral health and primary care through my work with Harbor Medical Associates. I treat adults and adolescents and senior citizens. I also provide consultation to physicians to optimize outcomes for shared patients. My orientation is a combination of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness and solution focused therapy.

Anxiety disorders in children, adolescents and adults
I am a graduate of Boston University and past instructor in psychology at the Harvard Medical School at Cambridge Hospital. I have more than 25 years of clinical experience, specializing in anxiety disorders with children and adolescent clients. I believe it is important to work collaboratively with parents and their children to design solutions to change problematic behavior and emotional issues. In addition, I provide individual therapy to adult clients presenting with a variety of issues.
Lance McElaney, LICSW

I am a clinical social worker with more than 30 years of experience helping clients deal with a wide range of issues including stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, addiction, separation and divorce. I utilize a short-term therapy approach as much as possible. My approach is cognitive solution based, using both theory and realistic problem solving. I have an MSW from Boston College with advanced training in couples counseling, substance and abuse and attention deficit disorder. I am a sports enthusiast, enjoying coaching, basketball and golfing.
Marcia R. Smith, LICSW

Utilizing an interactive, practical and sometimes humorous approach, I help my clients who may be stuck in a relationship or job, or are having difficulty coping with a loss. I draw on a variety of techniques (CBT, Gentle reprocessing, psychodynamic, DBT and EFT) to help clients reach their personal goals. I have specialties and advanced training in both couples counseling and grief/loss recovery. With couples, I coach them on ways to restore their love and connection. With grief/loss, I assist clients in moving beyond death, trauma, divorce and other losses. I have over 20 years as a clinical social worker with prior business background which I find is helpful in assisting clients with career issues and work/life balance. I am happily married, love ballroom dancing, flower arranging, kayaking, photography and our dog.

I utilize my clinical knowledge and abilities in order to promote and foster client and family success across environments using Collaborative Problem solving, CBT and Social Thinking Curriculum. I have a BA degree from University of Massachusetts, Boston and and an MSW from the University of Loyola, Chicago with a specialization in school social work. With this specialization I am able to help families build and interpret the develop of Individual Educational Plans, Functional Behavior Analysis and Behavior Plans. I love my cats, sports and any outdoor activity.
